I have always thought I was a very fortunate and blessed little girl (I know I’m 22, stop reminding me der!). I’ve always been surrounded by good friends, an ever-supportive family and good people in general who have never stabbed me in the back, always lent a helping hand and who are always supportive of my decisions and actions. Even if they were not always approving, they would still show their affection and encouragement in little ways.

It’s funny how my parents nag and nag and nag me about burning my weekends rowing, complain that my room looks like a dump, and then buy me endless bottles of moisturizer, sunblock, and now shades (that I absolutely adore) AND ask me when am I gonna bring a medal home… =) That to me, is unconditionally love and i love them even more for that.

I never really knew if my gang of gals liked me rowing (granted, it’s my life and all) but I knew they would always be there for me when they gave me my grey owl last year. No need for words or anything at all. Thank you for calling back, for wishing me online and for remembering even though u all are so faaaar away. =) i loves u all...





It’s amazing that I have met so many groups of friends along the way and I am always thankful that some of us have been friends for so so long now. These are people who will pester me to meet up ever so often only to have me cancel on them 2 days before, people who dun judge me, give me love and support almost unconditionally and are just there when I need them. I owe all of u a big one.



Then there are the people whom I should be spending time with in redang now. They gave me a fantastic 5 months in Vancouver and I’m totally kicking myself for not being able to go, but I promise we’ll meet up when u guys come back. =) then u can get me all jealous with your pretty photos and nonsensical stories…



And then there are people whom you would be amazed at, cos u never ever remember to wish them in time, and they do it promptly year after year. To you all, I love u all too. I promise to remember =) the aso farmland cake was to-die-for. i loved it. =)

Then there are people whom you’ve been friends with for close to eternity. Think primary 4. Primary 4 was someone I’ve loved for the longest time and we still keep in contact now. I used to pour coke on him in primary school for goodness sake. =) He’s still an amazingly capable guy and I know we’ll hang onto this friendship for a really long time.

then, there is my team. Going back to rowing was possibly one of the best decisions i made last year. the team has brought me so much joy, and so many memories. Of course, there were the occasional heartaches and tough decisions that i couldn't understand but there was also lots of laughter and happiness that more than made up for it. thank you for your lovely presents, the thoughts and just for remembering, cos that meant the most to me. i'm already using the earphones (they are fantastic!). i'll wear the gorgeous sports bra on sat, shower with that huge brush and oh-so-sweet strawberry scrub and use the pretty pink towel after that. loves all! =)
