心好痛...
你们对我如此重要.
有一天不划了,
我们还会是好朋友吗?
今晚过得好开心.
像以前一样吃东西, 打闹, 拍照, 自在逍遥.
有你们......真好.

the sun really got me today.
we were trying hard to figure out how we were feeling cos we were not hungry, not thirsty, not THAT tired physically and definitely not tired mentally.
it was a very easy 10km this morning cos we ran only 6km? eng-eng was a bad influence and decided to make ceng-ceng accompany her for a leisurely sunday morning stroll at the SHAPE event. it was a SUNDAY. why kill youself. =p
it's disturbing when training rocks for one boat and sucks for the other. very shang nao jing.
the sun.
we figured after a long while. we were grouchy. very grouchy.

regina and i were commenting during the interval about how we're so caught up with the stresses of life that we forget totally about taking time off to enjoy the little things that make us happy, that make us think and that make us feel.
halfway through the first act, i remember thinking to myself... this is really the magic of theatre. I've always found it amazing how something that happens up onstage can affect the masses in the audience when we know that it is all but fictional. Theatre presents a hope and a getaway. Theatre reflects life, but it also makes you see life from a perspective you may not be used to. Theatre makes you think, makes you happy, makes you cry, makes you feel alive. such is the magic of the stage - the fleeting moment, the vulnerability when putting yourself before an entire audience, the feelings you go through, the words and emotions of the character that is put forth through you. It still amazes and touches me very much.
someone wrote into the forum page today about why there wasnt a notice the presence of gay themes in the play. He said it might not be suitable for children as they may not have the maturity to understand what is happening on stage. He also said something like it was unsuitable as it was marketed as a family musical and kids might be affected. a reflection of people who choose to live in their own little sheltered world?
i was very touched by the play. i was awed by the actors' voices and liang wen foo's timeless songs. I never expected myself to enjoy it so much. It was amazing how bang wenfu managed to rearrange everything so that the original meanings of the songs were retained but at the same time, it was so much fresher and so much more flavourful. I remember reading the script and telling regina it wasnt as impressive as i thought it would be considering it's by johnnie to (the guy who wrote perhaps.love). But we realised our stupidity cos once presented live onstage, it became a well-balanced, well-directed and well-executed play. It wasnt flawless, but it was sincere and it was very real. I overheard someone commenting that there are so many companies staging plays and musicals just for the sake of it. This was different. There was no ra-ra, no OTT publicity, It was grounded and like i said, it felt real and relatable. Like many members of the audience who were wildly cheering at the curtain call, I'm waiting for their 2nd run in 2009. THIS is uniquely Singaporean and we all should be extremely proud of it.
天冷就回来... no wonder it sold out 19 shows. till 2009 =). it was a great night.
