Before I left for my ulu mountain in the States, a couple of different people gave me advice on how to make the best out of the trip. My cousin told me to go and do the crazy things that I would never do in Singapore, and pan told me to take everything as a learning experience. On my trip there, someone else told me that everything was worth doing as long as i felt it was worth it. I'm glad I had all these words from these people cos they did make my time in the States a lot more meaningful and worth it. The last 2 months was a mish-mash of emotions and experiences. I met so many people there who made me see life in many different ways, encountered situations which I would never have put myself through in Singapore and experienced a whole new way of life. Surprisingly (or not), it was a life where I felt extremely comfortable in. It was almost as though I had lived there much longer than 7 weeks and I loved my time there. Looking back, it was possibly one of the best 2 months of my life and I'm glad I had the chance to live it up, the way I wanted it.
